4th place at the World Cup in Istanbul 2014

For the first ever FIS big air world cup we went with the swiss snowboard freestyle team to Istanbul. I’m verry happy to end up 4th place in this competition.

Because of a crash in the training my foot was hurting. I’m glad for all the support of trainers an physio that made it possible for me to take part at the contest and qualifie for the finals. It was a nice trip and a great experience.

A little report on SRF:

Now I’ll enjoy a quiet Christmas with my family and let my foot recover fast to be back on snow soon!!!

2nd at the Pleasure Jam 2014

To end up second at the Pleasure Jam was a great start into my season! We had three good days in Austria with mostly good weather and a great park. Check out a recap of my runs here:

Cheers 🙂 After a good day with Kristiina Nisula 2014 was Amazing. For the first time I could ride the jump during this great event in Zürich.

The view from the top of the jump, over the Zürich lake was breathtaking.

I rode during the style session and also could do some runs in the evening for the show between the cross over session. The athmosphere was breathtaking and I enjoyed to share this great weekend with my teammates, friends, my brother and all the 34’000 spectators.

5th place at the Worldcup in Kreischberg 2014

Still with a bruiced heel from Sochi I took part at the World Cup in Kreischberg last week. It was a hard exhercise but I’m happy I could do my runs and that my heel feels pretty good today, after some days break!

I made it through the qualis, through the semifinals to the finals with the minimum of training. I’m happy with my 5th place after that struggle with my foot. Looking forward to the World Championship in Kreischberg next season, with a healthy foot! The course was fun this year allready!

See you soon on snow for some nice spring shredding 🙂 !

Sochi 2014

After a great week in Sochi I ended up on the 9th place of the first Olympic slopestyle competition! That one rail did’nt like me so much but I’m happy that I could show you some tricks over the jumps!

A thousand thanks to my sponsors and to everyone else who was cheering for me 😉 !!!!

3rd place at the Burton European Open 2014

The week I was taking part at the Burton European Open 2014 in Laax was amazing. I’m really happy about my 3rd place, my first podium at a 6* TTR event.

There was also a short Portrait about me in the swiss news. Filmed during the BEO qualification days. Reporting about the Burton European Open and my road to Sochi. Enjoy! TV

My road to the third place at the Grand Prix in Copper, my ticket to Sochi!

This year I went once again to America to snowboard in December. I could travel with the Swiss snowboard team. Some friends of mine and I did a three day stopover in New York. We had a blast checking out the big city. I also liked the one day trip to Brooklyn a lot. Shopping in vintage shops, walking around the streets chilling in coffees and rooftop bars, drawing my friends in a restaurant.

After those days in NY we went on to Colorado. It was nice to be back there again. We spent three good weeks snowboarding and training.

Check out this small video of a training session in Woodward where we went training indoor on a bad weather day:

During the last days of our stay in America we took part at the Grand Prix in Copper, a Freestyle World Cup. My goal was to get there a top-10 result to approve my spot for taking part in Sochi.
I was really happy that I landed my second run in the qualification and that I made it together with my team mate Isabel Derungs to the finals.
Just one day before our travel home we could start in the finals. It was a bit windy first, but the weather cleared up so it was fun to ride. I landed my first run and then also my second run with a backflip, a fs 360° and a bs 540° over the jumps. It was really nice that I ended up in the third place. This was my first podium on a World Cup. Isa also did well and got second.

The next day we took the flight home to Switzerland. I arrived at Christmas evening home to Vnà, where my parents live. It was a big surprise for me, that the people of my hometown had organized a small party to celebrate my qualification to Sochi. Even the radio was there to make a live interview with me. Although I was a bit shocked in the beginning it was awesome to meet everyone and to celebrate!!!
